Mintz Levin moving offices to Torrey Hills
Tuesday, November 27, 2007
Mintz, Levin, Cohn, Ferris, Glovsky and Popeo, P.C., will be moving its legal offices to Gateway at Torrey Hills, firm officials recently announced. The firm just signed an 11-year lease for 39,927 square feet of office space and is expected to move into the building in April 2008. Mintz Levin will be the anchor tenant in one of the complex’s two four-story buildings. The new space is
being designed by Howard-Sneed Architecture and Design and is being built by TSA Contracting Inc.,
both based in
San Diego. It will accommodate up to 60 lawyers when completed. Mintz Levin’s San Diego office currently has 23 attorneys.
“Our aggressive growth plans required a space that would allow for immediate expansion and still have room for future growth,”
said Craig Hunsaker, managing member of the firm’s San Diego office. “In addition, we wanted the ability to create an environment that was both state of the art and welcoming to clients, visitor and our employees. Gateway at Torrey Hills gives us all that and
more. We look forward to being at Gateway at Torrey Hills for many years to come.”
Mintz Levin has tripled its San Diego office since opening it with less than 10 attorneys in June 2006. Hunsaker said the firm is talking with dozens of local attorneys, “several of whom we hope to add after the first of the year,” he added. Cisterra Partners
is the developer of the Gateway at Torrey Hills. Brokers are Studley Inc. and BRE Commercial.
“We are extremely pleased that Mintz Levin has chosen Gateway at Torrey Hills as their San Diego headquarters,” said Cisterra’s Jason Wood, senior vice president of finance and leasing. “Having such a renowned law firm in Gateway at Torrey Hills is an exciting milestone in the project’s long-term success.” Gateway at Torrey Hills, which will be completed in December, is built on one of the last commercial spaces with ocean views in the Torrey Hills/Carmel Valley area. The project sits on 7.7 acres at the northwest corner of Carmel Mountain Road and Interstate 5 and includes 200,000 square feet of office space in two Class A four-story buildings and a separate parking garage. Mintz Levin is currently leasing two floors of office space in the University Town Center area of San Diego.

Article Date: 11/29/06
Full Story:
Construction has topped out at Gateway at Torrey Hills, a two-building, 200k sf office project being developed by Cisterra
Partners north of San Diego in the Del Mar Heights area. The project is scheduled to open in the fall of 2007.
“We have an aggressive construction schedule and we’re happy to say that we are right on target,” states Jim Edwards, Senior
Vice President of Development for Cisterra. With demand for office space in the Del Mar Heights area so high, we are committed
to being the only new office space in the area to be completed in ’07.”
Gateway at Torrey Hills offers one-of-a-kind views of the Pacific Ocean and the Torrey Pines State Reserve as well as close
